Students from all over the world auditioned and performed this 28-person cast production of Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Broadway Bares

Stage Management Intern (2019) // Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS

Spending 5 weeks in the heart of New York City, learning the fast-paced and high stakes of a Broadway production. Specifically working on skills like formatting and keeping up with changes to a new script, creating music sheets, recording rehearsals both virtually and psychically. This taught me that you have to bring your A-Game to every rehearsal and the best way to help everyone out is to know the show like the back of your hand.

Frankenstein

Stage Manager (2019) // Michigan State University

This was a great senior show for me! Working with Vertigo Rigging Company to fly an actor was very helpful for my career in stage management. I learned how to communicate with the actor flying in a way that felt most comfortable, creating the psychical cues for safety while flying, and incorporating a flight call into a very busy pre-show schedule.

American Idiot

Stage Manager (2018) // Michigan State University

American Idiot was my first big musical I worked on! I had a total of 500 cues for a 90 minute show, having all elements of tech including sound, lights, automation, media, and a 6 instrument rock band. Reading music was required for this position, as American Idiot is mostly an opera-like musical with minimal scenes. I began learning how key it was to have most of the cues memorized, so that you can be paying attention to the moments where actor’s movement strikes the cue.
